Responsibilities
The Plant Manager is responsible for the operational performance of his/her plant and for all personnel, equipment, facility, financial, and reporting requirements necessary to ensure that ongoing plant operations including product support are performed in a cost-effective and safe manner. The Plant Manager shall ensure that all operations and service goals are established and met while supporting the Secure Shredding product. The Plant Manager will also build relationships for acquisition opportunities.
Manage plant operations. Directly responsible for the supervision and daily activities of the Shredding plant.
Responsible for the overall operational condition of plant equipment. Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary. Oversight of the plant preventive maintenance program. Oversee the operational efficiency of all equipment. Be familiar with available new technology.
Establish a baseline and monitor overall plant performance. Manage plant performance improvements based on Key Performance Indicator KPI measurements.
Responsible and accountable for the local operational aspects and overall effectiveness of their site safety and security programs including protecting customer records and/or other media from loss, damage or unauthorized access. Implement appropriate safety and security programs. Require employee compliance with all safety and security policies and procedures.
Support District Service Operations and Administration as necessary.
Provide support for internal or external customers to drive total quality service TCS within the product line.
Be familiar with industry trends to include laws that affect our customers and prospects.
Manage the destruction process to ensure it meets customer contractual obligations and Iron Mountain internal requirements.
Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, and wages/salaries.
Provide customer presentations on the Secure Shredding product and help develop customer solutions. Support Sales and Account Management as necessary.
Have plant in tour-ready condition at all times.
Develop relationships with local competitors.
Manage plant performance through example, motivation, monitoring and coaching. Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws, as well as, Iron Mountain policies and procedures.
Manage all internal operational functions, as well as, external vendor relationships.
Assist Market Manager by providing shredding product knowledge to support price / program decisions.
Where applicable, Plant Manager may be responsible for the operation of truck equipment or spoke / satellite locations.
Communicate effectively with employees regarding benefits and other changes, which affect employees.
Attend IMRM district meetings or other meetings as required.
Take a leadership position with respect to plant tours.
Customer presentations.
Conduct annual performance appraisals.
Approve all new hires, terminations and disciplinary actions.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
1. Degreed college education
2. Manufacturing experience and maintenance experience
3. Someone with 5
years of experience
4. Local applicant preferred (LA and Orange County.)
5. Definitely looking for someone who has upward potential
6. Some experience in recycling would be a plus.
7. Military experience a plus
8. Six Sigma/lean processes a plus

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
